Sema Niğdeli

She was born in Tokat in 1972. She graduated from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University and the Department of Art History at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. She attended botanical illustration courses organized by Işık Güner in 2007–2008 and by Christabel King in 2010 at the Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden. Between 2010 and 2013, she took lessons from Hülya Korkmaz. She participated in various group exhibitions. Since 2014, she has been working as an illustrator in the Illustrated Flora of Turkey Project. She also shares her experiences with aspiring botanical illustrators through training programs at the Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden, where she was first introduced to botanical illustration.
