Barış Özüdoğru
He was born in Sivas in 1981. After completing his undergraduate studies in Biology Education at Hacettepe University's Faculty of Education, he completed both his master's and doctoral degrees in the university's Department of Biology, where he currently holds a faculty position. Between 2017 and 2025, he served as the curator of Hacettepe Biology Herbarium (HUB). He serves on the boards of the Flora Research Association and the Ecological Research Association, and is also a board member of Hacettepe University's Biodiversity Research and Application Centre. Additionally, he is the flora curator for the Biosphere Museum. He is an editorial board member for both the Turkish Journal of Botany and the Nordic Journal of Botany. As part of the Illustrated Flora of Turkey project, he has edited three volumes on the Cabbage family (Brassicaceae) and authored treatments for 13 genera. His academic interests focus on the systematics, evolution, and biogeography of the Brassicaceae, with particular emphasis on high-altitude species and how alpine flora responds to climate change. He is married and has one child.
